In 2019, the UAE will welcome the world to watch the AFC Asian Cup in Abu Dhabi. Fronting the competition will be a bold new identy inspired by 1,000 years of Islamic art and by the national colours of the UAE. The new identity, designed here at North55, was warmly received when it was recently unveiled to an audience of international sporting press and football industry figures.

Always refreshing to get off the computer and put our hand skills to use crafting an Arabic calligraphy identity. These are some of the early stages of the design process, working through the composition for the identity following the shape of the 'masterplan landmass' and also reading 'Mutrah', the home of the new development by Omran.

We designed, built and today launched the site for Turkish Airlines’ and their #CheckInToGolf campaign, encouraging golf fans across the world to share their golf experiences for a chance to win some fantastic golf travel prizes, including an opportunity to meet Rory McIlroy at the Turkish Airlines Open 2015.
Launched by ambassador Rory McIlroy golf fans can #CheckInToGolf using the hashtag on Twitter and Instagram by posting an image of their favourite golf destination and experience; whether they are currently playing or dreaming of playing whilst off the course. People can also see where others have been checking in all over the planet.
McIlroy said, “I’ve been on the road for quite some time with the Tour and have seen some of the most incredible golf destinations. So it feels great to be launching the #CheckInToGolf campaign today, allowing everyone to celebrate and share their favourite golfing experiences, vistas and hidden gems from around the globe. I can’t wait to see where in the world has the most ‘Check-Ins’ but I’m hopeful that my home country is very well represented – so come on, Check-In for me! Turkey is also a really inspirational destination to visit and play golf and I’m massively looking forward to playing in the Turkish Airlines Open later this month.”
